The mission of the Preparedness Section is to prepare state agencies and local emergency management organizations to prevent, respond to, recover from and mitigate against disasters through planning, training and exercise activities.
TRAINING
Our Training Office coordinates State preparedness and provides the Division’s internal and external education and training. Courses provided include:
We provide a variety of courses throughout Arizona, as well arranging for training for many out-of-state federal programs. EXERCISE
Exercises are a practical, efficient and cost-effective way for a community to prepare for disasters. The purpose is to provide competence in all emergency functions. All exercises conducted by ADEM follow the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program guidelines. PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION
Protecting public health and safety from the effects of radiation exposure in the unlikely event of an accident at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) is the primary concern for the Arizona Division of Emergency Management’s (ADEM) Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Program.
