Emergency Management Training

FEMA/EMI Independent Study
FEMA Independent Study courses can be completed through the Emergency Management Institute's (EMI) website. You can access their complete Independent Study course list by clicking here. A partial listing of the most common Independent Study programs are:

  • IS100 - Introduction to the Incident Command System
  • IS200 - Incident Command System for Single Resources
  • IS700 - Introduction to the National Incident Management System
  • IS800.b - National Response Framework

These Incident Command courses present a foundation for most all emergency management programs, and are essential for NIMS Compliance.

Please note that ICS 300 (Intermediate ICS) and ICS 400 (Advanced ICS) can NOT be completed on-line. Our training programs can be requested for local delivery by following our Training Event Request procedures. To see what's currently scheduled in your area, please check our ADEM Training Calendar.

Emergency Management Institute
EMI also offers a variety of programs in residence at their facility in Emittsburg, Maryland. EMI will reimburse your airfare and meals, and lodging is provided on-site at no cost. FEMA requires that applications for EMI programs be approved by the State Emergency Management Agency (ADEM). For more information on these programs, visit their website or contact our EMI coordinator for assistance.

Local Delivery of EMI G-Level Programs
FEMA's Emergency Management Institute allows us to provide their G-Level programs through our State Adjunct Instructor Program. We contract with over 150 adjunct instructors to provide emergency management training throughout Arizona. Our instructors come from all disciplines, and have a wealth of knowledge and experience.

We have the ability to deliver most of the programs available through the EMI Non-Resident Delivery program, including all required Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Managment System (NIMS) Training. You can view/download the current EMI catalog from their website to see what programs are available.

You'll find some of the common programs listed in the Advanced Professional Series (APS) course list.

Our training programs can be requested for local delivery by following our Training Event Request procedures. To see what's currently scheduled in your area, please check our ADEM Training Calendar.
