Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for SchoolS (MHEPS)
MHEPS is nationally recognized for its innovation and multi-disciplinary approach to contemporary educational and safety issues.
In partnership with the Arizona Department of Education and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, we routinely offer this timely and important course around the state.
This two-day course is an Advanced Professional Series (APS) course, and is eligible for AZPOST credit (16 hours). It is designed to help participants recognize the need to plan and train for an all hazard type scenario for the school setting. School administration and staff are encouraged to gain a better understanding of the importance of working with other agencies and responders in preparing for, responding to and recovering from an emergency.
Target Audience: School Staff, Faculty, School Resource Officers (SROs) and Administrators, Emergency Management, Fire, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Hospital Providers, Government Unit Agencies and Volunteer Agencies Active in Disaster.
We recommended that schools encourage their local police, fire and EMS responders send representatives to this training.
Our training programs can be requested for local delivery by following our Training Event Request procedures. To see what's currently scheduled in your area, please check our ADEM Training Calendar.
