Description: This 8-hour course presents a study of the chemical, biological and radiological hazards and their associated signs and symptoms that could possibly affect officers during an incident. A study of the different Chemical Protective Equipment and ensembles is also discussed which includes the function, operation, capabilities, limitations and inspection of APR's, SCBA, chemical protective suits, boots and gloves. Training involves the regulatory requirements for PPE and involves practical application of their specific PPE to reinforce the objectives.
Prerequisites: Familiarity with hazardous materials and protective equipment is beneficial.

Registration: Participants should enroll by 14 Nov 2009 in order to secure a place in the class, and to ensure the course minimum is met. Registration may occur after this deadline, but there will be no guarantee of available seats.
